EBI Consulting is working with a real estate investment trust (REIT) and their attorney on a portfolio of a major retail store. The client first engaged us to perform desktop site investigation reviews for a portion of a portfolio to look for potential environmental issues with the sites.

Challenges

Our team performed ten test sites and was invited to perform another ten, concluding in our completing desktop site investigation reviews for the entire 80-site national portfolio.

Solutions

From the initial 80-site portfolio, we identified a segment of sites requiring further investigation. These sites included underground storage tanks (USTs) and oil-water separators found at auto shops associated with several retail buildings. The client continues to utilize our team for all of the above services as new portfolios are investigated and purchased.

Outcomes

EBI’s relationship with this REIT continued to develop and we were awarded asbestos-containing building material surveys and air quality monitoring related to selective demolition of a limited portion of a retail store. The client was happy with our team’s quality, service and delivery and as such, we are now performing asbestos and mold services for a large portfolio of major retail stores across the country for the client.

VICI Properties made headlines when it announced its intention to acquire the landmark Venetian Resort Las Vegas and the Sands Expo and Convention Center. This real estate buyer tasked EBI Consulting with conducting a thorough acquisition assessment of the property in early 2021.

Multiple multifamily properties, HUD environmental review

EBI was contracted by the city housing authority to complete a HUD NEPA environmental review for the property. The property consisted of eight different parcels located throughout Winchendon, MA.

Military-based fire department - Indoor air quality and mold spore assessment
