BURLINGTON, MA (January 26, 2023) – EBI Consulting is pleased to announce its acceptance to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s ENERGY STAR Certification Nation program in 2022.
The ENERGY STAR program was created over 20 years ago by the EPA to provide building owners and operators an effective way to determine the efficiency of their buildings compared to other similar buildings in the same locale. To celebrate the program’s 30th anniversary, the EPA launched a special one-time recognition to organizations who certify five or more buildings in 2022, with higher tiers of recognition available based on the number of buildings certified.
In 2022, EBI Consulting achieved the second-highest tier, Executive Members, after certifying 72 buildings. EBI joins 12 other companies in the “Executive Members” category.
EBI’s Energy and Sustainability team has for over a decade offered ENERGY STAR services to help clients evaluate energy usage across their portfolios, identify areas of improvement, and assist with the application process to ensure they meet program requirements. In addition to obtaining the ENERGY STAR certification to meet local compliance requirements, being ENERGY STAR certified helps owners to become exempt from other requirements that require additional services and costs, have a more complete overview of portfolio energy use, and save money due to less energy used and mortgage interest-rate reductions for some assets.
